An invitation to a HOMEGROWN community potluck and skillshare in San Francisco

Hayes Valley Farm1

HOMEGROWN Shepherdess Cornelia is in town for Maker Faire Bay Area, and wants to get together with San Francisco HOMEGROWNers! Join us for a community potluck and skillshare at Hayes Valley Farm – a community farm in the middle of the city!

Thursday, May 19 · 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Hayes Valley Farm

450 Laguna St.

San Francisco, CA

Please RSVP here or here.

Let’s teach each other – Crafty skills with Kelly Wilkinson of Make Grow Gather. Kelly will be sharing how to make these wonderful leaf prints:

Bring cotton or linen materials that you’d like to decorate: T-shirts, aprons, placemats, napkins, etc. We’ll have some HOMEGROWN T-shirts to work with, too.

Let’s grow together – Cornelia will show how to make self-watering planters for growing in small spaces.

Let’s flock together – Hayes Valley Farmer Jay Rosenberg will share “Bird Language”.

Hang with fellow HOMEGROWNers, farm supporters and more!

Bring a ready-to-eat dish to share and a plate/bowl and utensils if possible. Beverages will be provided. Great fun for adults and kids – bring ’em all!

Hayes Valley Farm has been generous enough to host this event. From freeway ramp to farm – we encourage you to get involved with this wonderful organization. There are dirt-digging volunteer opportunities every day!

The mission of the farm is to serve as a community and agricultural hub encouraging San Francisco residents to connect with one another, grow their own food, and learn about sustainable ecological systems. Hayes Valley Farm explores strategies for farming in the urban setting, using minimal inputs, upcycling local waste, replenishing the landscape, and maximizing community involvement and resources.
