Swap what you’ve got for what you want

More fun than simply buying, swapping and bartering promises a connection to your friends and neighbors, too. Here are some swaps that we think are pretty cool.

VeggieTrader.com is a new web site that aims to connect backyard gardeners who are holding excess produce with other gardeners looking for veggie variety.

How many of us really use ALL of the seeds in the packets we buy? The Let’s Get Growing Seedshare is an online swap/finder for folks with seeds to spare.

The HOMEGROWN swaps continue with a local Soup Swap this weekend. This summer we’d like to do an ice cream swap and a salsa swap…and maybe a salad dressing swap too!

Swap-o-Rama-Rama has swept the nation! Come swap your tired old clothes for others, or re-fashion old into new at Maker Faire Bay Area – and don’t forget to visit the HOMEGROWN Village at Maker Faire where we’ll celebrate how YOU are living HOMEGROWN!

  3. I talked about this on my blog last week here. I am going to get in on a few of the flickr swaps in the next few months. Just have to find some time to do it.

  4. I love bartering and have a great set up with a neighbor who has chickens, but too much shade to grow vegetables. We grow vegetables for her, and she gives us fresh eggs. It works out perfectly!

I’m currently setting up a barter for my communication and design skills for a wine business. I’ll be designing for WINE. Sweet!
