Carbon Shredders - more new friends!
Who Are Carbon Shredders? In their own words “Carbon Shredders started in the Mad River Valley of Central Vermont but is becoming a larger network. We are a collaboration of concerned citizens and institutions focused on energy conservation and education.”
Mission: We are helping individuals and groups go on “the low carbon diet” and track their C02 footprint. The Low Carbon Diet book and Do Your Part online tracker are our main tools to track carbon and energy costs.
Our long-term goal is to help enable a clean energy future for communities everywhere. Our short-term goal is reduce our combined energy usage and C02 footprint of everyone in our network by 10% by 2010.” Wow! What a difference 10% could make. As Gregor from Seventh Generation told me: “we’re talking about more than sustainability, we’re talking about REGENERATION for Mother Earth” - ab-so-LUTE-ly!

It was great fun having a booth next to you guys. And the folks at Seventh Generation, Green Moutain Coffee Roasters and Yestermorrow Design/Build School are very gratified at the response we got at Bonnaroo. I hope everyone signs up to shred carbon and at the same time commits to doing all that they can to help local farmers produce healthy local food for their communities. It is all part of the same movement towards a better, more sustainable world.

Here’s a thought: why not form your own Homegrown Carbon Shredders group through our website and start tracking your C02 reduction and $ saved with the Low Carbon Diet? It’s a delicious menu of efficiency and fun. You gotta try it! Just go to the url below and click on the Do Your Part link.
